This suggests the possibility that he had
at least two sisters who married Jerry and John HOUCK.

The Census of 1850 also shows a 3 year-old boy by the name of Washington BLACK. The relationship to the family is unknown as of July 1999. These census reports could indicate a missing part of her life that included marriage, or a woman who never married nor had children. He was buried in Aug 1857 in Gingrich Farm, Washington Twp., Snyder Co., PA.⁽³⁵⁹¹⁾ Buried on his farm. There is a stone beside his wife in the Coffman-Gingrich Cemetery, Cocalamus, Juniata Co., PA., even though, according to John Slabaugh, Christian Gingrich is not buried there. Christian GINGRICH was born in 1755 in Lebanon Co., PA.⁽³⁵⁹⁶⁾ Just east of the village of Fontana on the south side of the Horseshoe Pike, now Rt. 322.. He resided Gingrich farm and homestead in 1776 in Fontana, Lebanon Co., PA.⁽³⁵⁹⁷⁾ Received 59 acres, including the homestead of his father's farm upon the elder's death in 1776, In 1785, he purchased 88 acres from his brother Michael. In 1797, Christian sold these to parcels to Christian Baughman. Gingrich then purchased 340 acres from John Baughman, about 3 miles west. Slabaugh states that the farm is located a mile southwest of Mt. Pleasant on the east side of Mt. Pleasant Rd., but the map only shows a Mt. Pleasant over in neighboring Lancaster County. A new home was built by Anna Gingrich west of the property after Christian's death. According to Slabaugh, the home still stands today, a short distance east of Brightbill Church. He was buried in Aug 1808 in Family burial plot, Gingrich farm.⁽³⁵⁹⁸⁾ Anna stone is the oldest, but Christian's stone cannot be found. He died on 12 Aug 1808 in Lebanon Co., PA.⁽³⁵⁹⁹⁾ Parents: Joseph GINGRICH and Anna HUBER.

He died on 15 Apr 1909.⁽³⁶¹¹⁾⁽³⁶¹²⁾ Exact date of death is in question because there is a possible misprint in "The Lauver Legacy..." which gives a date of death of 15 Apr 1809 along with a date of birth of
30 Jun 1820. One possibility is 1890, but clarification is needed from the author.

J. Richard Lauver's pedigree chart shows year of death as 1909. Changing year of death on 4 March 2006 from 1890 to 1909. In light of possible error and Slabaugh's misprint of 1809 death year (before he was born), that the 1909 date appears most likely. At least this would put Henry Gingrich within a time frame that a death certificate could be obtained from Pennsylvania which started keeping such records in 1906.
