"Johann (Hans) Wendel Lauber / Laber Land Warrant Claim of March 26, 1746, for his new home in America, near Clay, Pennsylvania. Also some warranting neighbors next to him. To find it, start from Clay, Pa. square; go east to Clearview Road. Turn north-east to first farm on right occupied by J. Glenn and Mildred Wissler, his wife."
On page 9 of the manuscript, Melvin Lauver states that the farm is "presently owned by J. Glenn Wissler and consists of 132 acres. Glen Wissler's son's farm, just south of him was originally a part of this tract. The house....was built in 1814, just one year after the building of Old Zion Church. However, Wendel's grandson George, built the house. There must have been a preceding house occupied by the Wendel Laber family. That too, may have been a log cabin, as was the first Old Zion Church building and many houses of the neighboring farmers."

Land was patented to Martin "Labor" on the date shown. He was buried in Sep 1823 in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Brickerville, Lancaster Co., PA.⁽⁵⁵¹¹⁾ According to Melvin Lauver, they are buried in the fenced family plot in the northwest part of the cemetery, about 1/2 mile northeast of Old Zion Church. He died on 2 Sep 1823 in Clay, Clay Twp., Lancaster Co., PA.⁽⁵⁵¹²⁾ Parents: Johann "Hans" Wendel LABER and Anna Margaretha MULLER.

Rose's file (and another researcher on Ancestry.com) indicates 1845 (age 98). Living until 98 would have been highly unusual at that point in history, but not impossible. However, the 1825 date seems to be more expected. More evidence is needed to change the date to 1845. Since the date of death for Catherine Loban Landis is in question, Felix could be the son of either Catherine or his father's second wife, Mary Elkin. Parents: Felix LANDIS Jr. and Catherine LOBAN.

He died by 29 Dec 1739 in West Lampeter Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa..⁽⁵⁶²⁹⁾ Will was signed 29 April 1737 and proved 29 December 1739. Felix's land was next to that of Jacob Landis who may have been a brother, but no research so far confirms that.
