Hans Stauffer immigrated in 1710, so it may be been sometime between father Daniel's first wife and his second wife, Veronica. He may have travelled with his brother Matthias.

There seems to be some great discrepancies in the issue and even the parents of the children in this family. More corraboration is needed. Current informaton may be correct in some instances, and wrong in others, especially on the vital matter of parentage. Parents: Daniel STAUFFER and Barbara GALLI.

He was married to Veronica SCHENK about 1714 in Ibersheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, Palatinate, Germany. (8809) John Slabaugh hypothesizes that Veronica may have been John's second wife because he was 55 when he died and she outlived him to emigrate to America and because of the surname and possible connection to John's daughter-in-law Catherine SHANK.

John was 48 when his second son was born. His first son, Mattias, was said to be an older son when he emigrated with his uncle in 1710 to America.

There are indications that Daniel was indeed much older than Veronica and it is likely that Daniel was previously married. It seems logical to assume that the first two sons of Daniel, who moved to America ahead of Veronica were from a different marriage.
